My desire for drawing and painting started when I was a young boy, watching my artistic father at his craft. As my skills and interest grew, my father was always there to teach, guide and nurture me. I have discovered a true inner peace when expressing my feelings artistically. Although art has continued to be an important part of my life, my career path in electronics and engineering at Ford Motor Company, and the wonders of being a husband and father, allowed me only limited time for painting. With my recent retirement from Ford Motor Company, I hope to dedicate more of my time to painting.
I find that painting Plein Air is a most wonderful way of connecting with the beauty that nature holds, for those who take the time to look. It is with a deep passion that I hope to capture some of the wonders that are continuously unfolding before all of us. With great pleasure, my father and I share our common bond by painting together as members of the Michigan Plein Air Painters. My primary mediums are acrylics and pastels. When I am not playing music in a band, sailing the Great Lakes, fencing in a tournament, tinkering with a classic car, or playing with my granddaughter, I plan to be painting plein air.
